Collectible VERNON KILNS Identification and Value Guide Second Edition Written by Maxine Feek Nelson In the early depression years of the 1930s, there were many potteries in southern California busily producing colorful, inexpensive pottery. Vernon Kilns was among these California potteries and a successor to an earlier company, Poxon China, which traced its roots to both the '49 Gold rush and to England. In 1931, the company's ownership passed to Faye G. Bennison. Under his dynamic leadership, the pottery now called Vernon Potteries,Ltd, remained at the original site in Vernon, California, ultimately becoming a leader in the pottery industry and internationally famous for the quality and versatility or its wares. But like many of its American pottery and glass contemporaries the company was unable to survive the flood of foreign imports and in January 1958 the company reluctantly announced its decision to cease operations. This definitive volume shows the evolution of the marks and features full color photographs, descriptive text and values, for hundreds of the items produced by Vernon Kilns. 2000 Hardcover New and in New condition. $19.00 USPS Media Mail postage, including a tracking number, is $5.00
