This Carte de Visite features a lovely young lady identified as Annie Vernon who appears to be quite well off. She is wearing a fur stole and muff and some very nice jewelry. The photographer and artist was E. (Edmund) J. Stoneham who was located at 79 Cheapside in London E.C. Cheapside was a very important and fashionable street in London. In Old English, Cheapside meant Market or Marketplace E.J. Stoneham passed away in January of 1899 and his son, F.E. Stoneham, continued with the business. There are numbers on the reverse that indicate that the photograph was taken in 1864 and is the third pose taken during the sitting.
